Spring 2013 - Youth Fitness Programs

Members Registration: March 15-17

General Registration: Begins Monday, March 18 - 9:00 am

Girl Power Fitness Boot Camp!

  • (For girls aged 9-14 yrs)

This class is very similar to a women’s boot camp program but adjusted in level & intensity for girls. This action packed class combines intervals of cardio & strength exercises such as hand weights, bands, & balls. Core strengthening and flexibility are included for a complete workout. This class is open to ALL fitness Levels. Join Carol Anne for a fun and challenging workout with friends!

DATES: Begins Thursday, April 4
TIME:  7:15 - 8:00 pm
COST: Members - FREE!   |   Non-Members - $6/class


Weights for Youth

(ages 10-13 yrs - takes place in Weight Room)

This class introduces youth to proper fitness & training techniques.  Half the class will focus on cardiovascular, strength drills before moving to the lifestyle centre for the remainder. Participants will have a ‘work-out card’ with their program by course conclusion. Once the program has been completed, youth may train in the gym using their program guidelines - with adult supervision.

Weight Training for Teens

(ages 14-16 yrs - takes place in Weight Room)

This class will expand the knowledge of cardiovascular and weight training for teens. The first half of the class will focus on unique equipment like bosu, stability, & medicine balls. The class will then move to the lifestyle centre for cardiovascular & weight machines, along with free weight training. Once the program has been completed, youth may train in the gym using their program guidelines.

Youth Fitness (Ages 8-12)

Sports, fitness, team-based activities, exercise, and more! Youth Fitness is a fun, physical activity-based exercise class for children aged 8-12. Come out and have fun with friends while developing skills and healthy habits for life!

Junior Racquetball (ages 9-16)

Come join Bill as he teaches the kids basic to advanced racquetball skills. A different and engaging way to get involved in physical activity. Skills will be taught & games will be organzied according to levels

Introduction to Athletic Training (ages 12-15)

This program is an introduction to many different fitness exercises for young athletes or even aspiring athletes. Join us for sport-specific cardio, agility training, plyometrics, circuit training, core strength, full body strength, and more! Learn new exercises every week! To ensure the best training for all participants, class maximum is only 10 participants.
